It’s 15th of May.
April was about mult-tasking, managing every single task with a smile, writing and photographing every day. May is much brighter, even though fifteen days evaporated too fast, but I don’t want to complain.
I planned to practice mindfulness this month, staying in the present and focusing on what is important. I also visited library and brought home too many books that I wanted to read for a long time. One is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (And Other Concerns) by Mindy Kaling; I came across so many Mindy fans in last month. The other book that I’m enjoying the most is Portions From A Wine-stained Notebook, because you know I’m a fan of Bukowskian Philosophy, or something like that.
“They say time heals all wounds, but that presumes the source of the grief is finite”
― Cassandra Clare
I adored the quote a week ago; it made me wonder how words are so powerful, how it can shake your heart on a fine day!
May is also a month of allergy, warm sunshine and little rain; the kind of month when I walk a tightrope and say, “Ya! Now my life is pretty balanced!”
It rained finally yesterday, I am not sure if it had any impact on the drought, but it surely made my soul dance. Who doesn’t love rain in late May in California?
And even though I cut down blogging for some time, didn’t touch the photographs and the camera, I missed people I know through blogging. So strange how we become friends by falling for each other’s words! This month I read some of my poems to real world people and got compliments. That experience made me think about this difference between real and virtual world and how words that we hear and words that we read seem so different. I have to write that out pretty soon.
For next two weeks, I don’t want to sing “Love yourself” like the social media, but I’ll try to envelope life’s melancholy in bright flowers, good books, and warm food because right now this allergy and my runny nose are quite annoying.
Happy Weekend!

The title is inspired by this song.
This is quite lovely. Thank you. Particularly touched by the rain splashing around the bird. You are a natural blogger.
This is quite lovely. Thank you.
I have been sick for over a week, but seeing this post gave me a much needed smile. Nice to hear you are sharing your poetry with others…you have such a beautiful artistic gift. Sending love, hope you are well. ❤
Christy, May is a month of allergy in my calendar, so taking some time off. I hope you’re feeling better this week. ❤ Take care of your health.
Thank you so much for your kind words. I will share the whole story with you. You may get a mail. 🙂
I’d love that 🙂
Feeling much better, thank you, friend.
The rain was awesome!!! It one of the best storms we had out my way this rainy season. Mindfulness…something that I too need to make a priority. It is one of those things in life I know is good for me but life is a distraction. I do find that writing is a form of mindfulness. It helps to put how we choose to live in perspective. It is always encouraging when I hear directly from my friends about a blog post. Makes the screen between the blog-o-sphere and life more transparent. Have a gray weekend, Archita!!!
Living in the present is a daunting task, because nostalgia is alluring, it always strains out the worst part from the memory and showcases happy times. But just like I practice running, I practice mindfulness too. It surely helps, when we accept the present wholeheartedly. 🙂 I hope we get more rain, I’m of course in love with this murky weather. 🙂
mindfulness eh:)? That’s pretty awesome and pretty darn hard too! how’d it go?
It’s going wonderful. 😀 No worries about tomorrow and no snippets from yesterday. 🙂
