To the well-organized mind, death is but the next great adventure.”
― J.K. Rowling
What happens when you and I are over?
What happens when I stand with you for
the last time in a room,
and listen to our heart beating like a drum?
What happens when the books we read together
vanish to the hollowness of our inner world?
What happens when our familiar smell of contentment
that we carried in our backpack dries out?
What happens when tales of three continents that
we stored in tin jars disappear from the shelf?
What happens when you and I finally are able to
forgive our gloomy past and switch off?
Doesn’t that frighten you sometimes- remembering
things, letting go, keeping this walk hand in hand,
knowing they all are ephemeral, like everything else?
There will be poems in this April. I will organize them alphabetically in my mind and write here. And I already mentioned, the theme this month is “Dear life.” Be back to see what happens next.
