Sundar Nursery is a garden that reconnects Delhi will its old world charm. Situated next to Humayun’s Tomb, the garden was established in the 20th century to have plants for New Delhi.
The nursery has been redeveloped by the Aga Khan Foundation into a recreational park housing a botanical garden, lakes, vibrant nursery beds and a rose garden. The nursery marries old world charm with contemporary cultural activities like Heritage walks tracing the historic path of the 16th century Grand Trunk Road, farmer’s markets, workshops and exhibitions.
I have been wanting to explore the nursery for a long time now, and even managed to get there one Sunday but had to turn back because of a traffic snarl.
Sundays are understandably super busy here and I am planning to visit it on a leisurely Friday, and obviously when I do, you would know because I would probably gush all about it here.
