Are you a Kindle person or a Paper person?
I used to be a papyrophile, loved the caramel smell emanating from my books, I would often carry around books like I was their Mom. But then smartphone happened and I started spending more time online on social media. There was a time I completely abandoned my paperbacks and even the precious hardcovers looking longingly from my bookshelves. I would guiltily look at them, and then the next moment, lose all interest and get back to doom scrolling.
But then thanks to Kindle, for reconnecting me with the world of Books.
Won’t be a stretch to say Kindle has rekindled my desire to read. While my love for physical books remains strong, I cannot deny the convenience and versatility that the Kindle offers. I can carry not just one, but an entire world of books around with me. This is especially handy when I am traveling.
Additionally, I find reading on Kindle very convenient. The adjustable font sizes and built-in dictionaries are the cherry on the cake. I have become so used to these, that I sometimes can be found double pressing on a word in my paperbook trying to find the meaning of it.
But all said and done, there’s something magical about the sensory experience of reading a paper book that cannot be replicated by digital devices.
While my Kindle has rekindled my passion for reading and introduced me to a world of convenience and accessibility, I will always hold a special place in my heart for paper books. Each format has its unique benefits, and the coexistence of both enriches the reading experience in different ways.
What do you prefer? Paper books or Kindle?
