I have two best friends, both chose their significant others. In a country where parents still have major influence on their children’s lives, including whom to marry, I take this as a major win for my friends.
One of them got married a few years back and the other got married yesterday. Months of planning and preparations just over in a few hours! And now I am worried that there won’t be any more friends’ weddings to attend.
And also I have to congratulate myself for the important role of being their wingperson whenever needed.
But seeing them both happily married makes my heart so full. You don’t get to choose your family, but you must definitely choose your friends well. Someone you can share your laughter and pain with and also the occasional fights.
I am happy I chose well.
