As a child, I was a huge romantic. So much so that I dedicated ‘Pyar hua chupke se’ to my then crush, humming it aloud whenever he was around me in school. I was 8, and my friend and I were both head over heels for him.
So, when I had the opportunity to witness the singer of this song recently, I wasn’t letting it go.

The singer, Kavita Krishnamoorthy Subramaniam, is not just my favorite but also the favorite of a majority of Gen X and millennials.
True to her name, she regaled us with her biggest career hits, interspersing them with interesting anecdotes from the recordings of these songs. It was so riveting to see the audience sing and dance along to her voice just how they would to a contemporary pop star.
So, to summarize, I would just like to say that Kavita Krishnamoorty, let thy name be honey, because that’s how precious your voice is.
