I have the Imposter Syndrome, so calling myself good at any skill is one of the toughest things for me.
But with practice comes perfection, so let me take a shot:
- Singing- I am a trained Hindustani classical vocalist with no particular ambition to do anything about it. Or so I thought, I recently learnt about one of my earliest music teacher’s demise and since then find myself revisiting the childhood music lessons. I also aim to release my first song on my birthday this year.
- Reading- One thing I can confidently say I am good at is reading. Give me anything to read, and you would see I would have read it by the time you asked me to. Novels, Novella, ad copies, pamphlets, I will read all of it like a hungry cat slurping through food bowls.
- Writing- I don’t know if I am a writer because I am a reader or it is the other way around, but I love to write, I write just like I read. Hungrily, like I am running against time. But that’s when the problem arises, always after I am done writing. Whether what I wrote needed to be written, whether the grammar is correct, whether it makes sense, would it find kindred minds or would it be ignored. Those are the things that keep me up at night these days.
- Running: Again a natural instinct which I turned into my passion in my late twenties. I love to run, I channel my inner Furiosa and feel like I am a beast of fury and finesse. In all reality, I may look like Phoebe but hey, it makes me my own Hero, be it Furiosa or Phoebe
So, these are the things I believe I am good at. What about you, dear reader?
