I live in India, and trust me, things are not exactly dull here at the moment. Still, given that I have committed to writing every day, I am using this prompt to rehash my college lessons on journalism.
The books said, “Dog bites man” is not a news story, but “Man bites dog” is.
So, I inverted the logic to find a regular “Dog bites man” news piece, and here’s something that didn’t elicit any response from me:

Now, this news would have been interesting for me if I still consumed alcohol. Not to say that I never did—I used to drink until my early thirties. Thankfully, my tolerance declined significantly in my late twenties, and my hangover-free mornings became rarer. I completely gave up alcohol a few years back and, honestly, I don’t miss it at all. I also don’t miss the late-night parties.
But in a country where alcohol-related road accidents make up 10% of the overall road accidents, having stringent rules to prohibit surrogate advertising is always welcome.
What do you think about this move on tougher ad curbs on alcohol advertising?
