that I did for myself, because in this household, we don’t boast about acts of kindness we did for others, we only want them to pay it forward.

July Writing Challenge- Day 30
So, as you know, I have talked about my tendency to be self-critical, with a side quest of being a second guesser too. This usually becomes more pronounced during the luteal phase and improves with my periods.
Those days are hard, both physically and mentally. I get random aches, suffer from costochondritis or lower back pain periodically, and need medication at times.
However, last year I taught myself to be less critical. I started writing about five things I am proud of at the beginning of each month and put sticky notes as bookmarks. During my luteal phase, I force myself to look at those affirmations and that enlivens my spirits just a little, it’s a bit like looking at a younger you, ever so promising and hopeful.
Working out and running are also the two acts of kindness that I am deeply grateful to myself for, had I not been doggedly regular at them, my mental health would have been in shambles.
Another would be this writing challenge I started, it has been a month and I want to continue this, so there will be an August Writing Challenge too!
I believe we should talk about ways to be kind to ourselves just as much as we wish to talk about being kind to others.
What do you think?
