Sometimes the wave inside my head
looks like a silent word, or like
a clean afternoon of California summer.
On those days I do art. I paint a haunted house,
gather all the wordlessness inside it,

Most of the times, I don’t carry a big camera while taking a hike in the nature. However, I come across all hidden wonders as soon the man-made world vanishes – a photogenic wild flower, a hidden stream, cherry blossoms out of no where, a rainbow behind the lush green mountain, a small island with only two swans, or a squirrel squinting at a pine cone. “Maybe it was not a bad year,” I whisper to myself after seeing another friend’s “A Great Year in Review” clip on my FB news feed. “Maybe the goods were more powerful than the evils, maybe smiles were overpowering all the tears,” I keep thinking while chopping carrots, onions, cauliflower florets. It’s strange how you list things and use the word ” favorite” too many times when you get older, knowing there’re not many people available to remember that list of yours. But, well, november is my favorite month. It seems short but colorful. My mood, most of the times, follows the color of the outer world. And the outside world is always bright and cheerful here.
